Wedding Trends2009 Caribbean Wedding Trends

Over the past few months some wedding trends for this year have been taking place. Because of the economy people have opted to get married in smaller and less expensive weddings. There are many ways to cut down on wedding expenses that do not include cutting out the magical appeal and general enjoyment of getting married. You dream Caribbean wedding can be a reality even in these unsure times.

Vintage is in this year, which means you can save a great deal of money by wearing your mother’s or grandmother’s old dress. Ironically this can give you a unique look as wedding dresses just are not made like they use to be. Another way to get to that perfect destination wedding that you’ve always wanted is to consider cutting down on the number of guests. Food is a big cost and they less you have of it to feed others the less you will spend. Instead try a destination Caribbean wedding with just close family and friends.

Another Caribbean wedding trend this year is lots of color, this works perfectly with a beach wedding theme with a lot of tropical flowers and having a backdrop of turquoise seas and clear blue skies. With a simple white wedding dress a lot of little embellishments like flowery trim can be added which is also really hot this year. For a summer time beach wedding try a popular off the shoulder dress and since you want to save money and not get over heated maybe think about something simpler than a gown and try a nice, shorter white dress.

If you have someone crafty in your family (or maybe that is you!) see if they can help with some low cost decorations keeping in mind you want Caribbean wedding favors for your colorful theme. Simple and low cost or even free ideas are incorporating parts of nature into your Caribbean wedding. Find some local rocks and have them polished and use sand and natural plants for added decoration. If you cannot find all these items try a local Caribbean wedding shop for native ideas.
