Staying Picture Perfect For Your Trinidad Wedding

Staying Picture Perfect On Your Wedding Day

Renee-Liza Make Up for Trinidad weddingsEvery bride wants to look beautiful on her special day! What most brides don’t know is that make-up application for photography is slightly different than everyday makeup. With these tips, brides can smile with the confidence of knowing their look will stay picture perfect all day.

Brides want to look radiant and not oily in their wedding pictures. Keeping shine at bay in our humid Caribbean climate takes some work, but can be done! First exfoliate your skin with a micro-bead scrub to deep clean your face and provide a smooth surface for makeup application. Tone with an oil-free astringent to remove any excess dirt or oil on your face. Follow with a light moisturizer or, if you have oily skin, you may consider skipping moisturizer altogether. I recommend for that day- regardless of your skin type- all products used should be oil-free or made specifically for oily skin.

When selecting a foundation to wear on your wedding day, there are a few factors to consider.

Most importantly, the foundation should match your skin exactly. Foundation should be tested on the jaw line and should blend invisibly into the skin. Too light or too dark will give a masked appearance, which will show up even more in photos. Foundation should be oil-free, cream-to-powder or matte finish foundations are best for reducing shine. Also, avoid foundations with titanium dioxide, a white pigment used in foundations and sunscreens. Foundations with titanium dioxide in its ACTIVE ingredient list will cause your face to look white when flash is used.

After applying foundation, blot with tissue or oil absorbing sheet before applying powder to absorb excess oil in the foundation.

Press powder into t-zone with sponge and then using a powder brush, apply powder over entire face blending into hair line and ears. Blending powder down into the neck and chest will give you an even-toned look .Flash will reflect on the entire area instead of just your face, avoiding an undesirable two-toned effect. Apply SLIGHTLY more eye-shadow than normal because if it’s too little the flash will wash all the color out.

Whether you hire a makeup artist or you’re a do-it-yourself kind of bride, a makeup trial is advised. It will help you determine ahead of time what bridal look is best for you and what products work for you. Take a picture of yourself after the trial to ensure that the makeup looks natural in photographs.

Make sure to Bring along tissue, a makeup sponge, oil absorbing sheets, powder and lip color for touch-ups. These few pointers will keep you looking beautiful throughout your big day, but most importantly, remember to smile! Enjoy your wedding!
