Airbrush Make Up for Your Trinidad Wedding

For your special Trinidad wedding day, the key to it all is your foundation. Brides throughout the world have jumped on the airbrush band wagon, and you’re probably wondering if it’s a craze worth running after?
A little background; airbrush makeup has been around for years, making its debut as early as the 1920s. However, several artists who have been involved in airbrushing for over a decade have commented that its popularity has really increased within the past two to three years.
Airbrush makeup started off with the alcohol based formulations, which artists from the advent of airbrushing, found hard to manipulate, as once it went on there was no moving it. Applying blush over the makeup was not an option as the alcohol set to the skin and could give a streaky finish depending on conditions – in a bride’s case, mascara tears would stain the makeup, making it difficult to remove.
Since alcohol based makeup, formulations that are water based, as well as silicone based have become mainstream in the bridal world. For you, the bride, the artist chooses based on specific conditions.
Silicone based gives a light dewy finish, creating the ‘J. Lo glow’ that is a very popular look in the makeup world. Some people think that silicone based makeup is not ideal for these weather conditions, but I can assure you it is tried and true. (Imagine, makeup able to stand up in Carnival conditions!). It’s worth noting that the silicone based formulation hasn’t been approved by the FDA and currently there are no long-term studies which attest to the safety of its use. Care should also be taken when using silicone-based foundations because of the potential to inhale the product (tiny particles in the air) being sprayed through the machine onto the face. Although care should be taken, it’s important to note that you will not be exposed to it on a regular basis, so this note would really only apply to professionals in the field.
Water based formulations on the other hand are known for their matte finish, which usually do not require any powdering after application. This of course, is based on different weather conditions to ours, and to fool-proof makeup, a light dusting of powder is still applied. Both formulations last just as well as the other, and are used interchangeably as both provide a great finish.
So what is the airbrush difference? Well it’s all in the application; these foundations are highly pigmented but very thin in texture (as opposed to regular foundations which have to be severely thinned to pass through a gun, which in the end compromises coverage as well as longevity) and provides full coverage without a heavy build-up of product, the less is more concept applies, great coverage with less makeup.
I really recommend that it is worn for at your Trinidad wedding , so that the photos really reflect memories for a lifetime. Airbrush makeup is just one other option to the already tried and true regular makeup applications done by Makeup Artists throughout the world. Why not give airbrush makeup a try today?
