Minimal Tools Makeup for Your Trinidad Wedding

In preparation for a Trinidad wedding, here, we find some other uses for those regular products in your makeup bag, and even provide you with some tips on some products that should be part of your makeup regime!

You’re on the go and have just a lipstick in your bag, you want to spruce up your look a bit, why not use the lipstick!? Lipstick can be used as a cheek colour to brighten up your makeup on the go. It can even be used as an eye shadow, just set with powder and you’re all set!

A friend asked me what to do if all she had was foundation and no concealer. Some foundations have great pigmentation, and you may require less than you thought. So if you’re in a bind and have some covering up to do, but you have no concealer, then go with the foundation. Apply your first layer of foundation, lightly powder, then apply a second layer of foundation and lightly powder. You can continue with this method until you get the desired coverage but be careful, as you don’t want it to end up looking too cakey!

Oily Skin dilemma? If it’s one thing we’ve all complained about it is our oily skin and our weather doesn’t help it either, but there are some ways to beat the shine. Just use some milk of magnesia! That’s right, milk of magnesia. You can take some and put in your hands and apply lightly over your T-zone to take advantage of its mattifying properties. As an added bonus, it tightens up your pores! After you’ve done your regular prep and applied your moisturizer, apply some of the milk of magnesia over your T-zone and then apply the rest of your makeup as usual.

Oily Skin taming on the go…Everyone knows about carrying a compact for touch ups; just make sure it is a light powder you are using and not a powder foundation. What’s the difference? Powder foundations are exactly that – foundations, and the same cakey look that we all run from is what would be achieved if you used this for touch ups. Your compact powder is designed to set your makeup, and serves to refresh makeup as necessary without too much product build up.

Another great makeup bag must-have is oil blotting sheets. Clean and Clear is widely available, however, if you have some internet shopping access try e.l.f. cosmetics, they have great blotting sheets at $1USD (this is actually the cost of all their products!).
